The IBR — Brazilian Recycling Institute has formed a promising partnership with Bioanimal. Aiming to expand and put into practice their knowledge of mutual aid as well as: Offering favorable conditions and opportunities for quality of life to people in need and excluded from the social sphere.

To save, protect, restore, and preserve animals and plants that are being threatened with extinction in the most remote places.

LOCATION

Due to the great need and emergency situation in all aspects, we chose to begin a large part of our projects in the Sertao of Rio Grande do Norte in the Northeastern region of Brazil.

We are located in the city of Parelhas. It is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the Serido region. According to the census conducted by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) in 2010, its population is 20,354 inhabitants.

Our headquarters comprises 800 hectares of land, through provisional donation, only to start one of the most promising and audacious projects in the northeastern region. Aiming to demonstrate solutions and results.

According to IBGE, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. In the mid-1990s and 2000s, livestock near the city of Parelhas produced a herd of 8,914 cattle, 7,615 poultry, 2,937 goats, 2,912 sheep, 266 pigs, 254 quail. In the same year, 2.165 million liters of milk were also produced.

In municipal agricultural production, the highlights were the production of banana, sweet potato, cashew nut, coconut, beans, guava, orange, lemon, papaya, mango.

In industry, the city of Parelhas is the largest producer of roof tiles in Rio Grande do Norte, and is therefore known as "the tile capital." Today only a few mini-industries remain.

Currently, agriculture is nearly inactive and impaired. There is little active commerce. Agricultural production could not withstand the lack of rainfall and government investment, which does not offer sufficient favorable conditions to those most in need or hope of progress.
